Water essential to Life:
Research has shown that most of us are hopelessly dehydrated, and this starts long before your mouth becomes dry. It takes humans some time and many symptoms before we realize we are dehydrated. Drinking tea, coffee and cooldrinks is not sufficient. They contain dehydrating agents that get rid of the water in which they are dissolved, and then still take from the body's water reserves.
The body has a complicated multi-level water rationing and distribution process and gives the vital organs preference. The blood moves nutrients to the cells and is key to all bodily functions.
When you rely on cups of coffee or tea during your working day, headaches, stress, lack of concentration, depression, and hypertension are signals that your body is dehydrated. Being constantly dehydrated can lead to serious disease.
Water makes up between 50-60% of an adult's body weight. Men generally have a higher percentage of body water than women do because they have less body fat. Apart from aiding digestion, water helps the body manufacture enzymes, eliminate waste products, cushion the muscles, lubricate the joints, maintain and regulate body temperature, and ensure the correct functioning of the glandular system. Water also supplies the body with vital minerals including sodium, potassium, copper, magnesium and calcium. Water also replaces the natural flora in the colon.
Water cleanses the body, flushes out toxins and keeps the kidneys working well. So before you reach for that cup of coffee or painkiller, think about how little water you have had and rather reach for a bottle of Fontanne’s natural spring water.
